March 14, 2026

Today we had the privilege of attending the 2026 Special Tribute hosted by the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (PGCVF&RA) and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (LAPGCVF&RA). This program is dedicated to recognizing those whose service, leadership, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the volunteer fire and rescue service in Prince George’s County.

This year’s honorees represent the very best of our fire service family. Their dedication, countless hours of volunteerism, and unwavering support of their departments and communities embody what the volunteer service is all about.

Congratulations to the 2026 Special Tribute Honorees:

🚒 Glenn Sherman & Elana Sherman -
Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.

🚒 Chief Kathryn Lucas -
Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.

🚒 Glenn Locker & Amy Locker -
Bowie Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad

🚒 Rosa Maher -
Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary

🚒 Victor Whipple -
Laurel Volunteer Fire Department #1, Inc.

Each of these individuals has contributed to the strength, tradition, and future of the volunteer fire and rescue service in our county. From leadership in the firehouse to support through the Ladies Auxiliary, their service reflects the core values of dedication, sacrifice, and community.

Thank you for everything you have done — and continue to do for the citizens of Prince George’s County and for the volunteer fire service.

🔥 Congratulations to all of the 2026 honorees! Your service does not go unnoticed.
